The photos say it all! Great spot to meet, take refuge or just treat yourself. Watch the sunset than come here or the other way around. The gardens are lovely, the hotel is essential Carmel and the location is close to the beach.

This is a great local place, and I highly recommend it. The staff is excellent, very professional and attentive, and one of the best atmospheres you could ask for in a dining room. The spicy crab spaghetti is an absolute must try, also, so please, do yourself a favor and come here when you're in Carmel.

Buds bar, was an unexpected gourmet experience. Very traditional California Tavern style bar with a good bar tender. Great food. My husband had the best seafood ( crab and shrimp) Louie that I have ever tasted. The best presentation too! I'm an old California girl. Yet, was surprised by freshness of the flavors. Don't miss Buds if you get a chance to visit.

Bud’s is a stunning spot inside La Playa Hotel for drinks. We didn’t try the food, but the burger looked delicious and seemed popular with other guests. The ambiance is both charming and vibrant with several cozy rooms with fireplaces. I had a spicy margarita, which was delicious (and strong). Overall, such a beautiful setting to relax with a drink. I’d love to come back and spend more time here!

Steak and appetizers were delicious. Bar is open seating so come dine here if you want a cozy atmosphere and delicious food. Service was exceptional.

Best bar in Carmel and Monterey combined. The hotel looked nice as well although we didn’t stay there. The drinks and the food at the bar were good. We ordered the patatas bravas with grilled cheese and soup. Both were super delicious. The ambiance in the bar was super nice, giving off a speak easy vibe. There was music playing from a reel which was pretty cool. Bartender was amazing and very nice!

We’ve owned a house here for 10 months and we just yesterday got down to Bud’s at LaPlaya. We ordered vodka gimlets (on the rocks), deviled eggs and Bud’s Burger on a house baked pretzel bun (soft like a brioche bun) - all delicious (sorry no pictures, we ate them too fast! (check Google Maps for pictures). What a great local gem including the hotel whose grounds you can see from the upper level heated patio of Bud’s

My wife and I came here and just got drinks. The drinks were great! The whole place is open seating Monday through Thursday. Friday, Saturday and Sunday they have a host that seats you. My wife and I went on a Thursday and it was very relaxed. We got drinks and played a game at our table. Great views, great experience, great drinks.
